Unveiling of the official EPC logo in Waskaganish

Mandy Gull – Deputy Grand Chief & Chairperson of the Eeyou Planning Commission.
We are pleased to present the official logo of the Eeyou Planning Commission.
The logo was unveiled to the public by the chairperson of the Eeyou Planning Commission, Mandy Gull. The unveiling was done during the inauguration of the Eeyou Marine Region/Cree Nation Government new building in Waskaganish, where the Eeyou Planning Commssion Staff also has offices.
The mandate was given to the creative and talented Natasia Mukash. It consisted in developing a logo that would represent the ideas of Eeyou Istchee (land &water), Eeyou life, collaboration and future.
The two geese, male and female, represent balance and working together to monitor Eeyou Istchee. The drum represents our strength in our Cree culture. There is a song for everything, the land, the water, the animals and the drum also represent respecting life in all its forms, what our ancestors did and what we still do today.
A logo is an essential means of visual communication and identification. In order to develop the identity of the Eeyou Planning Commission (EPC), it was essential to have a unique logo.
This logo will be used to identify every official publications.
